The opening was marked by a special event, attended by Councillor Akinola and Councillor White, alongside representatives from Enable, Reap, Deputy Headteacher Rachel Robson, Griffin Green Council Members and Wandsworth Council.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Delivered in partnership with Enable and Wandsworth Council as part of Welcome to Wandsworth, London Borough of Culture 2025, the competition invited\u00a0<span id=\"0.3475708659189203\" class=\"highlight\">primary<\/span>\u00a0schools across the borough to design inclusive, sustainable gardens that champion biodiversity and community connection. Griffin\u00a0<span id=\"0.28224561608440457\" class=\"highlight\">Primary<\/span>\u00a0School\u2019s winning design has now been brought\u00a0to life as a vibrant new outdoor space for students to enjoy.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The opening event celebrated the transformation of the school grounds, with attendees invited to explore the garden and hear a few words from the\u00a0Deputy Headteacher, Rachel\u00a0Robson.\u00a0The garden features\u00a0native and pollinator plants, a rainwater collection system and compost bin integration, creating a\u00a0welcoming\u00a0environment which supports learning and wellbeing.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Councillor Akinola said: \u201cThis project will have an impact well into the future. It\u2019s not just about creating a garden today, but about setting a standard for the pupils and staff who come after and showing what can be achieved with a bit of creativity. We\u2019re excited to see the children using the space, learning about plants and growth, and taking pride in something they\u2019ve helped bring to life.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Developed as a \u2018living classroom\u2019,\u00a0Griffin Green will\u00a0provide\u00a0hands-on learning opportunities linked to the curriculum. The project has been shaped with long-term impact in mind, ensuring it\u00a0remains\u00a0a sustainable resource for future pupils.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Enable, in partnership with\u00a0Reap and South Thames College,\u00a0worked closely with the school throughout the process, offering expert guidance and practical support to bring the vision to life\u00a0while ensuring the space is manageable for staff and students to\u00a0maintain.\u00a0Earlier in the project, Enable delivered an educational assembly to Griffin\u00a0<span id=\"0.3701773376603875\" class=\"highlight\">Primary<\/span>\u00a0pupils, introducing them to where food comes from and how it can be grown.
