{"id":13583,"date":"2020-12-14T08:00:56","date_gmt":"2020-12-14T08:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/education-today.co.uk\/?p=13583"},"modified":"2020-12-11T15:39:15","modified_gmt":"2020-12-11T15:39:15","slug":"royal-shakespeare-company-presents-michael-morpurgos-tales-from-shakespeare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/education-today.co.uk\/royal-shakespeare-company-presents-michael-morpurgos-tales-from-shakespeare\/","title":{"rendered":"Royal Shakespeare Company presents Michael Morpurgo&#8217;s &#8220;Tales from Shakespeare&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As young people and teachers continue to adapt to new ways of teaching and learning as a result of Covid-19, the RSC will join forces with celebrated author Michael Morpurgo, to present a new series of weekly online\u00a0<em>Tales from Shakespeare\u00a0<\/em>running for five weeks from 8 January 2021.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-13584\" src=\"https:\/\/education-today.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/308757_Michael-Morpurgo_2020_Web-use-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/education-today.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/308757_Michael-Morpurgo_2020_Web-use-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/education-today.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/308757_Michael-Morpurgo_2020_Web-use-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/education-today.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/308757_Michael-Morpurgo_2020_Web-use-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/education-today.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/308757_Michael-Morpurgo_2020_Web-use.jpg 899w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The series will launch on Wednesday 6 January 2021, the day of Twelfth Night itself, with a celebratory reading by Michael Morpurgo, who will share his contemporary retelling of Shakespeare\u2019s funny and touching tale of the same name alongside performed scenes from the play.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With additional titles including\u00a0<em>Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, The Winter&#8217;s Tale, The Tempest<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>A<\/em>\u00a0<em>Midsummer Night&#8217;s Dream<\/em>, these performances are suitable for young people from Key Stages 1-4 and feature Michael Morpurgo himself as well as performances by the RSC\u2019s current Acting Company.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Tales from Shakespeare<\/em>\u00a0will be streamed as live free into UK schools at 11am each Friday for a five-week period starting from Friday 8 January 2021.
