Engaging Young Minds with Technology and Climate Action

Digit<all> Charity is on a mission to make computing accessible, engaging, and meaningful for young people across the UK. Through sustainable computing resources, workshops and teacher training, the charity has trained over 17,800 teachers and reached more than 700,000 young people in schools, communities, and beyond, helping them build confidence, digital skills, and a sense of agency.

As a charity run by experienced computing teachers, Digit<all> understands how challenging it can be for schools to deliver engaging, practical computing lessons alongside a full curriculum. That’s why the charity has designed programmes such as EcoCode and Coding for Climate Action (C4CA) that make it simple to bring hands-on computing and sustainability into the classroom, helping pupils develop coding, problem-solving, and computational thinking skills while exploring real-world environmental challenges.

EcoCode Workshops

Engaging Young Minds with Technology and Climate ActionEcoCode offers in-school workshops, training for teachers, and ready-to-use resources. Pupils engage in project-based activities that make computing tangible and exciting. They explore topics inspired by real-world science and sustainability, from polar exploration and cosmic phenomena to spider silk and penguin feet, connecting technology to meaningful environmental challenges. Teachers can also upskill with EcoCode training, ensuring confidence in delivering lessons themselves and making the programme sustainable long-term.

Coding for Climate Action (C4CA)

C4CA extends learning through interactive project-based units. Pupils design early warning systems, investigate natural hazards, and tackle climate change through hands-on coding projects. These activities build digital skills while encouraging creative thinking and problem-solving, preparing pupils for future careers in technology and environmental innovation.

Computing Catalyst Programme

Engaging Young Minds with Technology and Climate ActionFor schools seeking additional guidance, Computing Catalyst offers tailored support. Digit<all> ambassadors, all experienced computing leaders, can assist with curriculum design, mentoring computing leads, or deliver online and face-to-face lessons for a term or full school year, helping schools maintain an active, creative, and sustainable computing programme.
